Late December 1980, in the pine forest between two RAF bases in Suffolk, a group of American servicemen reported seeing strange lights descend into the trees. Over several nights, multiple witnesses, including senior personnel, described a triangular craft on the ground, its metallic surface marked with symbols, before it silently lifted away. One officer later recorded radiation readings above background level at the landing site.

It remains the best-documented UFO case in British history, earning the nickname "Britain's Roswell" for the sheer number of credible military witnesses and the official memo written afterward by the base's deputy commander, addressed directly to the Ministry of Defence. No conventional explanation has ever fully satisfied every detail in every account, and unlike most UFO folklore, this one comes with named witnesses, a paper trail, and an official government file that took decades to be released in full.

This design places the viewer deep in the forest itself, tree-lined path leading toward a glowing triangular light hovering just above the ground, stars faint overhead through the canopy. Rendered in deep pine green and aged gold, styled like a genuine period engraving of the incident.
