Kusarigama Sickle and Chain T-Shirt | Japanese Weapon Tee

The kusarigama pairs two very different weapons into one: a kama, or hand sickle, attached by a length of chain to a weighted counterweight on the opposite end. What makes it genuinely dangerous isn't the blade alone — it's the combination of ranges. A skilled user could whip the weighted chain out to entangle a sword, disarm an opponent, or strike from a distance entirely outside blade range, then close in for a finishing cut with the sickle itself.

Its origins are practical rather than martial — the kama began as a farming tool for cutting grain, and its adoption as a weapon followed the same pattern seen across a lot of historical Japanese arms: everyday tools repurposed by people who weren't permitted, or couldn't afford, conventional weaponry. Skilled use of the kusarigama became its own discipline, requiring a fighter to manage timing, distance, and two very different attack types simultaneously.

This design captures the weapon mid-swing, chain fully extended in an arc across the frame, hooded figure braced beneath a full moon and distant castle. Same dense engraved woodcut style as the rest of the ninja weapons pieces, with the sickle and chain rendered in warm copper tone against the black-and-white linework.
