The Val Johnson Incident T-Shirt | Minnesota 1979 UFO Tee

In the early hours of August 27, 1979, Marshall County deputy sheriff Val Johnson was patrolling a rural Minnesota highway when he radioed dispatch to report an intense light ahead on the road, moments before losing contact. When backup arrived roughly forty minutes later, they found Johnson unconscious in his patrol car, which had skidded to a stop with its windshield shattered from the outside, a dented light bar, a stopped dashboard clock, and both of Johnson's eyes visibly irritated, consistent with exposure to bright light.

Johnson had no memory of the impact itself, only the light closing in before everything went blank. Investigators found no evidence of a collision that would explain the damage, and Johnson passed a polygraph test regarding his account. The case remains one of the very few UFO-related incidents involving a law enforcement officer with genuine physical vehicle damage and documented injury, and it's never been satisfactorily explained by mundane means.
