The Ubatuba Fragments T-Shirt | Brazil 1957 UFO Tee

In September 1957, witnesses along the beach at Ubatuba, Brazil, reported watching a disc-shaped object descend at high speed before suddenly breaking apart in a bright flash over the water, scattering fragments across the sand and shallows. Several beachgoers collected pieces of the debris and, in an unusual move for the era, one submitted samples anonymously to a Brazilian newspaper, which forwarded them on for independent scientific analysis.

Laboratory testing found the fragments to be an unusually pure form of magnesium, without the typical trace impurities found in commercially refined magnesium of the period. That purity has kept the case alive in UFO research circles for decades, since replicating it with 1950s manufacturing methods would have been genuinely difficult. Skeptics have pointed to possible incendiary devices or flares as a more mundane source; researchers on the other side argue the metallurgy doesn't fit any known terrestrial process from the time. No conclusive answer has ever been agreed upon.
