In November 2004, Navy pilots flying training exercises off the coast of California, operating from the USS Nimitz carrier group, were directed to investigate radar contacts that had been tracking erratically for days. What they encountered was an elongated, featureless white object, quickly nicknamed the "Tic Tac" for its unmistakable shape, moving with acceleration and manoeuvrability that defied any known aircraft, dropping from high altitude to sea level in seconds with no visible means of propulsion.

Unlike most cases in UFO history, this one comes with genuine, released military sensor footage and on-record testimony from multiple trained naval aviators. The footage went largely unnoticed for over a decade until its public release in 2017, which helped trigger a genuine shift in how seriously the U.S. government has since treated the topic, leading directly to official Pentagon programs studying unidentified aerial phenomena. No conventional explanation has been offered for what the pilots tracked that day.
