Tucked into Utah's Uintah Basin, this stretch of ranchland has carried a reputation for strangeness long before it ever made national headlines. The property sits near land with deep roots in Ute and Navajo tradition, and the name itself borrows from Diné folklore, a skinwalker being a malevolent shapeshifting figure central to Navajo spiritual belief, adopted by later owners and investigators as shorthand for the property's reputation rather than a claim about the tradition itself.

Since the 1990s, the ranch has drawn sustained attention for reports of unexplained lights, cattle mutilations, and strange craft, eventually prompting a formal government-funded research program and, more recently, a dedicated cable investigation series. Nothing conclusive has ever come out of any of it. What has stayed constant is the ranch's reputation as one of the most persistently strange privately owned pieces of land in North America, and the strict no-trespassing policy that's kept most of what happens there entirely second-hand.

This design puts the viewer right at the property's locked gate, a searing beam of light splitting a blood-red desert sky beyond it, mesas silhouetted on the horizon. Rendered in deep crimson and cream, styled like a genuine period engraving pulled from a case file no one's supposed to have.
