In the summer of 1746, with Culloden lost and the Hanoverian army sweeping the Highlands, Charles Edward Stuart was the most wanted man in Britain — £30,000 on his head, dead or alive. He found refuge in a hidden cave above Glenmoriston, sheltered by a small band of Highlanders who took an oath to protect him no matter the cost. They refused any promise of future reward, telling him plainly that princes forget their debts. This ties to the "Cage" episode in Glenmoriston, where a band including Alexander Chisholm, Donald Chisholm, and Hugh Chisholm - alongside John and Alexander MacDonald, Patrick Grant, and Gregor MacGregor - swore an oath to protect the Prince at great personal risk. Notably, they refused any promise of future reward, pointedly reminding him that his ancestor Charles II had forgotten those who sheltered him. That  loyalty that summer has never been forgotten. This design honours the quieter side of the Jacobite story — not the charge or the battlefield, but the men who kept faith when everything else had failed. For anyone who values loyalty over glory, and knows some debts were never meant to be repaid.
