The Cuauhtli, or Eagle Warriors, were one of the two most prestigious military orders in the Aztec Empire, alongside the Jaguar Warriors (Ocelomeh). Reserved for the most accomplished fighters, membership was earned rather than inherited — a warrior rose into the order by capturing enemies in battle, and once admitted, wore the eagle's feathers and beaked helmet as living proof of his status. The eagle itself carried deep symbolic weight in Aztec belief, associated with the sun god Huitzilopochtli and the founding vision of Tenochtitlan, making the Eagle Warriors as much a spiritual brotherhood as a fighting force — feared on the battlefield and honoured within Aztec society alike.

This design captures that legacy: a warrior rendered in full ceremonial regalia, an eagle-beaked headdress framing his face, layered feathers in teal and gold cascading over his shoulders, and a round shield bearing an eagle emblem, all set against a warm terracotta backdrop that evokes sun-baked stone.
