An ornate weathered stone-grey border surrounds the scene, incorporating medieval knotwork, castle towers and repeated Calatrava heraldry. The warm sunset palette of antique gold, crimson, stone and deep shadow gives the artwork the character of an aged medieval chronicle brought dramatically to life.
