Of all the shapes reported in UFO sightings, none has proven quite as consistent, or quite as unsettling, as the black triangle. Witnesses across decades and continents describe the same basic craft: enormous, flat, triangular, marked with a light at each corner, moving with total silence at low altitude, sometimes hovering completely still before departing without a sound.

The most famous wave came out of Belgium in 1989 and 1990, when thousands of witnesses, including police officers, reported the same craft over multiple nights, later tracked briefly on military radar. Similar reports have surfaced from the United States, the UK, and elsewhere, often describing near-identical behaviour: no engine noise, no visible means of propulsion, no accepted explanation. Some theories point to classified military aircraft; others to something stranger. Neither has ever been confirmed.
